10 things to do to get a mower deck ready for use after sitting for a while. Should check these things at least once a year.
Be sure to check the owners manual as well.
- Check Gear Box Oil level and color
- Grease EVERYTHING! Don't forget the tail wheel.
- Hook up to tractor and move it to check for animals under it. Check for spilled oil after moving it. May indicate oil leak.
- Put the Mower Deck up on Jack Stands and crawl under it.
- * Inspect the blades. they should rotate freely on their hub pivots.
- * Check that there is nothing wrapped around the drive shaft.
