California King Sized Bed

Situation

Our current mattress needs to be replaced. It's a California King size, so it's as large as they come. (72" x 84" x 10")

I've been looking at ordering a Leesa Mattress or some other Foam Mattress.

Design

My wife and I like low platform beds

• DIY Modern Platform Bed - My concern is the headboard. I don't want a plain plywood headboard. Our current bed is all Cherry veneer. I need to see what kind of veneer is available in Cherry to see if I can make my own Cherry Headboard.

• Build a Mid Century Modern Bed frame

• Ishitani Furniture Bed - Not CalKing but beautiful!

• A very very very simple Plywood Bed
  • I like the Head Board, but might rather have one that is vertical rather than sloped.
