Convert Halogen Light to an LCD COB Light

The light over the Dining Room table is currently a 150W Halogen light. It gets hot, I have to order the bulbs because the local Big Box stores don't seem to have them in stock reliably, and it uses a lot of electricity. No need for that. I've been seeing folks using LCD COB's that wire straight to 110v A/C wiring, that should be a PERFECT replacement lighting element in this lamp. The YouTube video linked above shows the process someone went through to do this to a shop light.
